Tetbury Gymnastics Club takes the safeguarding and wellbeing of all our member very seriously.
Although the responsibility for safeguarding falls on everyone, a critical element in safeguarding is the welfare officer; an individual who is responsible for safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people within the club. All British Gymnastics affiliated clubs and gymnastics events are required to have a welfare officer in place to be responsible for:
Responding to child protection and poor practice concerns.
Providing support and advice in the implementation of procedures that safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Assisting the club to be more be child-focussed in its activities e.g. involving children in decision making processes.
At Tetbury Gymnastics Club, we have three welfare officers available to our members.
Janine Stone - head coach
Helen Berry - activity instructor & club committee
Anne Anderson - activity instructor & club committee
Contacting a Welfare Officer
If you need to speak to one of our welfare officers, you can do so at a gymnastics session where they are present, or you can contact the club email address and one of them will respond. Please put the word WELFARE in the subject line so we spot if an urgent response is required.
