Club competition 2025

The annual club competition is back this summer, and with an added layer as we invite the development and squad gymnasts to compete, as well as our recreational gymnasts.

When and where is the competition?

The competition will run on Sunday 6th July at our usual venue. At this stage we can't confirm the exact timings as this is based on the number of gymnasts taking part. Once the closing date passes, we'll finalise the programme and share it with you all. We hope to do this by Sunday 22nd June.

Why should we enter the competition?

We encourage every gymnast to participate in our annual club competition. We provide a fun, friendly and encouraging competition arena, whereby we give gymnasts as young as 5 the chance to be able to take part in a competition to feel a sense of achievement. We celebrate everyone's achievements, however big or small. Competitions also bring the gymnasts closer together, as they encourage their team mates, and it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience for each and every person.

What will gymnasts be competing on?

All gymnasts will take part in a floor routine, a beam routine and a vault. Routines will be listed here along with a video showing how gymnasts should look.

Closing date for entries

Saturday 14th June 2025 is the last date you can enter the club competition. This will be strictly adhered to and no entries will be accepted after this date so our volunteers and coaches can make final preparations.

Withdrawing from the competition

Gymnasts who wish to withdraw from the competition should inform the club as soon as possible. No refunds will be given.

Can we watch?

Entry to the competition for spectators aged 18+ is £4, plus an optional £1 per strip for raffle tickets. Children are free to enter. All under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No spectator of any age is permitted on the gymnastic equipment.

Please indicate on your entry how many spectators you will be bringing to help us plan the event. Payment for spectators is by cash or card on the door.

No person should approach the coaches or judges during the competition.

What should gymnasts wear?

All gymnasts should:
  • Wear a black leotard, and may also wear black shorts (as detailed on the uniform page).
  • Tie back long hair.
  • Not wear jewellery.
  • Arrive on time, ensuring that they have the appropriate warm up time.

How do we run the competition?

The competition is run by the club committee with the support of the coaches and some additional parent volunteers. Each discipline is scored by a qualified judge, and scores from all disciplines are collated to prepare the final results.

If any parent/carer has any complaint concerning the way in which the competition is run, they should put their complaint in writing within 5 days of the competition being held and this should be addressed to the Club Chair.

Competition guidelines

  • No person should approach the coaches or judges during the competition.
  • Photographs are only permitted under the conditions set by British Gymnastics for photography at gymnastic events. Full conditions are available on the registration desk, around the room, and will be shared in the welcome.
